McCoy Vase in Stunning Turquoise Blue
McCoy Vase in Stunning Turquoise Blue
Authentic Nelson McCoy small vase, signed “NM USA”, unusual and stunning blue turquoise color. Dates to McCoy’s earliest lines of decorative art pottery in the period 1934-1940, before they changed their mark to “McCoy” in the early 1940s.
Measures 4 inches tall, 4 inches in diameter at its widest. Incised mark on bottom, “NM USA”. No crazing, No chips cracks or issues, a little glaze color skip on the rim is all I can find done in production. One of the more rare McCoy signatures on the bottom.
In very good vintage condition with no crazing, but a very slight hairline crack that is shown in the upper right corner of the last picture, also a tiny dimple in the rim done in production (is under the glaze). These do not detract from the beauty of the piece or its wonderful display value. It's stunning color and elegant shape is reminiscent of colorful pottery featured in American impressionist still life paintings of the period.
